lost foam casting
Principle and Process:
1. The foam model replaces the traditional pattern: use different plates or beads, and accurately copy the shape of the parts through mold foaming molding or NC processing.
2. Overall immersion coating and dry sand shaping: The surface of the model is immersed in a special refractory coating to form a breathable and high-temperature resistant barrier. After drying, bury it as a whole in dry quartz sand without binder and compact it by vibration.
3. Negative pressure pouring and model disappearance: make the sealed sandbox in negative pressure state, and pour molten metal directly into the position where the foam model is located. The high-temperature metal instantly vaporizes and decomposes the foam model, and the liquid metal occupies the cavity space and solidifies to form.
technological process:
1. Model manufacturing: Mold foaming molding or CNC machining.
2. Model cluster assembly: bonding individual models with the pouring system into clusters.
3. Immersion coating: The model cluster is immersed in refractory coating, which is dried and cured.
4. Sand filling and compaction: Place the model cluster into a sand box, fill it with dry sand, and achieve high compaction through vibration.
5. Cover with sealed vacuum: Cover with plastic film, seal the sand box, and connect the vacuum system.
6. Pouring and gasification: Pour the liquid metal under continuous negative pressure, the foam model will be heated, gasified and decomposed, and the gas will be evacuated.
7. Cooling solidification and pressure relief: Castings solidify under negative pressure and release vacuum after cooling.
8. Sand cleaning: Pour out dry sand and remove clusters of castings.
9. Remove the sprue system: Cut off the sprue and riser to obtain a single casting.
10. Post processing: shot blasting cleaning, heat treatment, machining, inspection.
